Hi guys
Sincere apologies if this is in the wrong place, not intentional.
I have a couple of questions i could do with some expert advise on though.
I run my own dedicated server, in my home office for my son and myself, i managed to get everything going fine, just 1 server running the island map, i also managed to get it internet facing and an external friend can join from outside.
I am currently patching manually via steamcmd, but have gotten more and more into game and now we are looking to start boss's realise we need to breed..
I started learning how to change settings via the .INI files with decent success, but im getting stuck now, and after searching, found lots of threads suggesting ASM as gui..
Apologies for the back story, my questions though are,
Can I install ASM onto my server, without ASM installing the full ARK server as well, i have seen an instruction video where i noticed an import option, so i suspect i can easily import my server file into ASM.
If i install the ASM gui, will i be able to control breeding, cuddle time etc easier than editing the INI files all the time.
Secondly, whats the difference between the defaultgame.ini , the GAME.INI and which one should I be editing, same with the defaultuser.ini (full name might be wrong there)
Thanks in advance if anyone answers

Yes you can install ASM and import your existing server. Before you start create a backup of your Game.ini, Gameusersettings.ini files and your SavedArks Directory. Then install ASM, during the install be sure to set your ASM data directory to a folder at the root of your drive (ie C:\ASMdata\). Once you get ASM installed create a new profile and point the server install directory to your existing server install directory. Import your Game.ini and Gameusersettings.ini that should import all of your existing settings. Click save and then launch your servers and you should be good to go. If something goes wrong you will still have your backup files to restore your server.
Another note, if your server is currently located in documents, desktop, or program files I would highly recommend moving it to a folder at the root of your drive to avoid having any issues with file paths being too long.
ASM makes it very simple to edit your ini files using the GUI interface, Bletch has put alot of thought into the interface and it works very well. ASM also automates updates and backup functions and makes it simple to perform scheduled updates, backups, and restarts through the user interface.
You need to edit the game.ini and gameusersettings.ini that are in the \ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\ folder.
