Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out where to put server startup command line options.
Do I make a shortcut for Ark Server Manager.exe with a target like this? "C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\ARK Server Manager\ARK Server Manager.exe" -culture=en
Or is there a server config file somewhere?
Or an option within ASM? (didn't find one)
Or somewhere else?
FULL STORY BELOW:
I am an American guy based in Beijing, and the dedicated server I bought came with ASM. We were able to change the language of ASM itself to English and set everything up. The server works, which is great. However, server messages seem to broadcast in Chinese and since we're all on English PCs we get a bunch of "".
For example, " Pin ", or " S+ Campfire " (stuff getting killed by unknown forces)
I found the following in the FAQ, but just can't figure out where to put the setting itself.
How can I change the Language/Locale of my ARK server (does not work with ASM)? - (from Beals ) You can directly override the language by using the following startup commandline "-culture=en" (for dedicated servers, etc, where 'en' is one of the language codes listed below): English: en German: de French: fr Italian: it Spanish: es Simplified Chinese: zh Traditional Chinese: zh-TW Russian: ru Thai (NEW!): th Japanese (WIP): ja Polish (NEW!): pl Danish (NEW!): da Dutch (NEW!): nl Swedish (NEW!): sv Hungarian (NEW!): hu Czech (NEW!): cs Turkish (NEW!): tr Brazilian Portugese: pt_BR
Also am not clear on what "does not work with ASM" means in the question. Does it mean this method won't work at all using ASM?
There is a setting inside ASM called "Server Ags" under "Administration":
