Is there an option so that I can save my luster files to different location, like on a share? I want to do cross ark on two different machine in the same lan.

Yes it is possible, you will need to manually set the cluster directory in your arguments to a shared folder accessible to both machines.

No the alternate save directory needs to be blank and cluster directory override needs to be unchecked. You will need to add the following command to your server arguments with your chosen location.
-ClusterDirOverride=

Yea just simply using asm wasnt enough for me to link 2 machines. I had to set up Goodsync to sync the clusterid file. Has work perfectly since, and absolutely will not without. "Create a new character" every time without the syncing program.

You need Goodsync if the machines are in separate locations but if they are on the same network a simple network share will work as well. I have also heard reports that setting up a VPN between the servers and doing a network share that way works as well. The key is the cluster directory needs to be the same folder on both machines.
