I'm trying to run a dedicated server to host a game over lan.
I set everything up by hand, and ran into this issue. I thought well maybe I'm dumb, I'll download ASM and let it do its thing fresh. No mods, no nothing. Start with getting a vanilla server join able. No dice. Google searches has lead me to reset winsocks (on both machines) to no avail. Try a different query port, no avail. I am seeing SteamSocketsOpenSource: gethostname failed<> in the console, but thats the only error, and seen alot of people having that error but it not causing issue on direct join. Don't know if its related.
When I do the direct join. It sees the server name and information just fine, I enter the password, it starts to load into the server, but then fails with the Unable to query server info for invite.
Edit: If I setup port forwarding I still can't connect referring to the local IP but can connect referring to my external IP. Still wish I could join it off ingame browser set to lan (which shows nothing) but hell I'll take it.

Because we need to answer NEW questions. Asking questions that have already been answered takes time away from developing ASM into the best server manager possible.
