Hi, I have been using ASM for years. I do have 14 mods, all of which I have also been using for years.
First, my setup:
I have been running the server and ARK on the same PC for years. Occasionally my family will connect on another PC, over LAN only, no online.
My PC can handle it just fine, on mostly EPIC settings. I get 45-70FPS. This is not a resource issue. I have been a professional computer programmer for over 20 years, so this is not an experience issue either.
A couple days ago I updated ASM to the latest version. Since then, on two occasions, I have had an issue. The server may be crashing, not sure. Here's what happens:
First thing I notice, is my character is disconnected and I get a lost connection to host message. next I close ARK to look at the server. The server window is still up, no errors. The ASM window however, says the server is stopped. If I try to restart the server and reconnect, it tells me I need to make a new character. I disconnect and close ARK, and open the server's installation folder and check my save directory. Inside is simply the file TheIsland.ark and nothing else. My tribe info, player infos, and all the backups, Anti-corruption backups, and New Launch Backups are all missing.
Last time it happened after I had only been in for a few mins, so I just opened up the latest used .zip file backup and extracted it into the folder. This time, I had been playing for hours, and no backup exists for anything today.
Any idea what is happening? What can I do to fix it?

zaanzabar , It appears as though you have two issues 1. The asm backup is not running on that server. 2. The ark server save files are being deleted. The asm backup is not running on that serverThere are part parts to the ASM backup, the first part being in the global settings where you enable the backup and set the frequency. The second part is in the Automatic Management section of each profile. There is a checkbox to include the server in the backup cycle. Until this issue is reolved, may suggest setting the frequency int he global settings to 15 minutes, to enure that is the most you will lose if this happens again. The ark server save files are being deletedThis issue I am not familiar with. ASM does not delete any ark saved files automatically, this includes the world, player and tribe files. The backup system in ark is not the best, but it should never delete files, especially player and tribe files. The only system I know of in ARK that will delete everything is the Extinction Event settings. These settings are located in the Administration section, underneath the Message of the Day. If the extinction settings are enabled, then after the number of days the ark server will automatically wipe all the files int he savedarks folder. This is the only thing I can think of that would result in what you have experienced.

I currently have server backups running when I shut the server down, so since I had been playing continuously for a couple hours, it hadn't run.
I checked the Extinction event, and it was On, and set to 1 day. not sure how it got turned on, but that would explain it. 2 days played, 2 wipes.

zaanzabar, Now you have turned it off, can you come back tomorrow and confirm if that was the issue?
