Hi, I have been using ASM for years. I do have 14 mods, all of which I have also been using for years.
First, my setup:
I have been running the server and ARK on the same PC for years.
Occasionally my family will connect on another PC, over LAN only, no online.
My PC can handle it just fine, on mostly EPIC settings. I get 45-70FPS. This is not a resource issue.
I have been a professional computer programmer for over 20 years, so this is not an experience issue either.
A couple days ago I updated ASM to the latest version. Since then, on two occasions, I have had an issue. The server may be crashing, not sure. Here's what happens:
First thing I notice, is my character is disconnected and I get a lost connection to host message.
next I close ARK to look at the server. The server window is still up, no errors.
The ASM window however, says the server is stopped.
If I try to restart the server and reconnect, it tells me I need to make a new character.
I disconnect and close ARK, and open the server's installation folder and check my save directory.
Inside is simply the file TheIsland.ark and nothing else.
My tribe info, player infos, and all the backups, Anti-corruption backups, and New Launch Backups are all missing.
Last time it happened after I had only been in for a few mins, so I just opened up the latest used .zip file backup and extracted it into the folder. This time, I had been playing for hours, and no backup exists for anything today.
Any idea what is happening? What can I do to fix it?
