I don't know anything about the Fair Use laws. But I believe it's okay to use in ways that will promote the brand. Please let me know what you think! I am just trying to help in any way I feel might be useful

There are two ways this can be played: Use the image and wait for a Cease and Desist, or not use the image under the assumption that they *will* send a C&D, and try not to get on their bad side. I tend to prefer the latter. I like the lettering style but the tool is officially "UNOFFICIAL" as they have stated on their forums. If we could come up with a different logo but maybe which still has the sort of techno/retro theme, that would probably be best. But I definitely want to get more color and imagery into the tool. There is another person working on a full re-theme of the UI too, but no logos yet.

Ah, that's a cool one. Evokes the original logo but isn't a duplicate of it - I like it. I think the other guy is also getting close on the UI redesign, so that will probably be my next big project (along with RCON support), so I'll slip the logo in then as well. Do you have an original version of that logo which you could send to me?
EDIT: Oh I see there is an attachment, great, I can use that.

I'm gonna open up the logo design in a separate thread in Development. We have a UI theme, and now it seems we might have some different ideas for logos - I'd like the theme to be consistent. People will be able to submit their designs and then the forum can vote on them.
